Great Night

Last night, our camp pastor, Paul spoke on forgiveness and we had so many students dealing with past junk that happened in their life. It was a beautiful picture to see so many of our students at the foot of the cross giving their burdens and hurts to the Lord.

This afternoon somewhat caps off a few different things for our students here at camp:
1. Skycroft Star (American Idol for Camp)-we have four students still in the competition, singing for the camp's votes. June Hundley, Terrio Weathers, Drew Waters, and Micah Evans are all still in the competition. This afternoon is the finale...Each student can donate $.25 to missions to get a chance to vote once. Students and adults can vote as many times as they want.
2. Mega Relay-This is where each rec team goes up against the other teams to compete for the title of "Mega Relay Champions"
3. Spirit Cup Award-The spirit cup is a huge trashcan with a huge straw in it that is given to the Bible Study group with the most spirit.
4. The last night of Worship-Tonight marks the final night of worship for our students. Please pray that God would continue to move in their lives as He has been doing this week.

Tonight, we are gearing up for a carnival and a cookout where the camp will be throwing a huge party for us. It felt like a party last night when the camp staff set off fireworks. They use the same fireworks company that Washington D.C. uses in the national firework show. Needless to say, it was an incredible show!

We will be looking forward to seeing you all at church tomorrow!

Until then,

Peace!

Day One

Hello from Camp!

We have had an incredible day here at Centrifuge!!! God is doing some great things in the lives of your students here. I believe that Transformed Student Ministry was primed and ready for a great week of camp. Coming off of a great week at CRAVE, our middle schoolers were stoked about camp, and our High Schoolers had even more opportunities to invest intentionally in the lives of our middle schoolers as they learn what it means to mentor younger students.

We had quite an early start this morning in the guys dorm. The alarms went off before the normal summer time alarms. 6:00 came early for our students this morning as breakfast started at 8:00. I am wondering if they had simliar meals to what you have for breakfast for your students. If you read this, leave a comment of what your student typically has at your house for breakfast.

This morning, we had a choice of sausage, egg and cheese biscuits, ham biscuits, sausage links, and pancakes. Wow! What a treat!

The morning at camp started with breakfast, then we quickly moved to the AM show to wake all of the students up. Loud music, hoppin' games, sweet skits and awesome videos. From the AM show, the students spread around the campus to have their quiet time with the Lord. It was such an incredible sight to see hundreds of teenagers digging into God's word to start their morning.

Rec time was great fun as students learned their cheers for their respective rec teams. Today, their cheer had to have a "Disney movie" theme. From Recreation, students broke into their Bible Study groups. Today's passage for study was Matthew 13. I am excited about what God is doing in the lives of our students through Bible Study.

Then, each student went to Track times where they got to choose what type of entertaining activity they did for the afternoon.

Tonight marked our first official worship service for the students, and they came ready to dig into God's word. Our camp pastor, Paul brought a message straight from God's word about who Jesus is and challenged them with the question, "What Jesus are you Worshipping?"

We are having a great time! Feel free to email me at breed@firstnorfolk.org with questions, comments, or shout-outs to your student!

Until then,

PEACE!!!

We arrived!

Well, we have arrived at camp. We made great time yesterday as we left around 9:30 from the Church building. We stopped for lunch at a mall around 11:45 and got back on the road about an hour later. Then, after climbing the mountain in our buses, we pulled in to Skycroft right at 3:00.

Right as we got here, the bottom fell out and it started pouring. Thankfully though, the rain only lasted about 20 minutes. Other than that, the weather here has been absolutely beautiful.

Last night, we had our opening celebrations with orientation here at Fuge. More updates to come as time allows...and keep an eye out for testimonies from students!
